So, this one shoulder/sheer/long sleeved trend is a new obsession of mine, and I'm pleased to have fulfilled it so quickly. Bid a max of $75.01. Am slightly worried that it'll be a little too loose, where I can't wear it comfortably without being afraid of my boob popping out. But, A, you're right -- tape solves all, and you get the nice drape that goes away if you tighten the side of the dress.

I plan on wearing this, maybe, for vday, since I've worn out my bcbg red bandage.

1. I'm starting to hate 'street style' and its blogs, despite still perusing a few with semi-regularity. The pictures are beautiful and nice to look at, but I recently saw some article describing one girl as a 'street style star' and I was suddenly filled with rage, as this term means, what? That she WEARS CLOTHES OUTSIDE?!

2. Apparently, even this minimal definition of streetstyle that I have is now being challenged, as this? Does not count as 'wearing clothes'. I don't care how 'fashion forward' this may be, and hell maybe next year EVERYONE will be flashing the general public under the guise of 'style' - this is just wrong.

3. She seems very pretty, and the 'top' is actually quite lovely, if it wasn't so completely overshadowed by the headlights. I understand that many 'street style' shots are COMPLETELY staged, but even if this were the case, WHY? What's worse, I actually read through many of the comments on that post, and it seemed nobody was appalled by this, or questioned her/the general population's sanity.

In stark contrast to this, I absolutely adore everything about this look. The sheer is justright, and that print is perfection. The bow at the top gives it such a retrovintage feel, while the cut and fit seem to be most definitely modern. I love the proportions and contrast of the necklace - the placement is so canny that I don't even feel the need to claw at my neck upon seeing something with such a high neckline. Love the half tuck (I've been doing that a lot recently, so maybe there's a bias), the clutch (have also wanted an oversized structured clutch like that for a while), and whatever she is wearing underneath the top. Looks like maybe a shelf bra that doesn't look too bra-ish? All in all, what an extremely lovely woman, and just such a welcome contrast to my other post on sheerness. Everything about the other girl screamed naive, ridiculous, and attention seeking, whereas this lovely woman radiates serenity, maturity, and comfort in her own (amazing) skin. My first memory of Blumarine is their store in Paris. I walked in my first time in France, and it was like being in a different world, with all the pretty and sparkly such a storybook contrast to the gray and drizzly day. It seemed to be what Paris in the movies is all about (see: Paris, Je T'Aime and Midnight in Paris for reference, loved both those movies). I loved the feeling, and cherish the memory as I now know that even the most romanticized of visions will always be jarred into reality with too much exposure. After MUCH deliberation, I FINALLY decided to be okay w/buying a pair of jeanshorts for more than thirty bucks….and I am SO GLAD I DID! Thanks to T for knocking some sense into me - quibbling over five or ten bucks is senseless when it is something I have wanted for so long and frankly will wear constantly (weather permitting).

After my last two less than stellar experiences buying shorts online, I was a lil more careful - there was much measuring and comparing of my other shorts/pants/butt/legs to be as certain as possible of fit, and this paid off wonderfully today when I got the package and discovered to my delight that they do indeed fit perfectly! I would still be bouncing around my room happily wearing these shorts if it weren't so freaking cold right now. First saw this on the Vie Society, the blog I love to hate. After discussing w/T how much I hate spending for the sake of spending (I'm sorry, but I think it's kinda fug. Plus, it's even called the freaking *dog collar*, why do I NOT find that adorable?) I didn't think much of it. Then I came across an Ebay listing for it while I was perusing a buyer's 'other items' - listed with a starting price of $1,599. FOR. A. CUFF. Not even jewels, it's a strip of leather and a small piece of metal.

Then, while watching the latest Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (the only Real Housewives I watch, much to T's chagrin), I suddenly realized that Kyle Richards was wearing none other than the aforementioned cuff. I can kinda understand that - I associate Hermes with older women, old money, etc, and her cute hubs Mauricio was sporting an Hermes belt in the same episode, so i can accept that. Plus, I actually hated it less on Kyle, maybe it seems to suit her more.*

Finally, today, I came across the first pic, from the Times Magazine online. To quote:
